This site is designed to show our past and present dogs that have shared our lives and might have been used for breeding and showing. You will see some pictures of the early litters we have had and enjoyed. We intentionally show some pictures to brag about our dogs and their accomplishments.

Our Location

We are located on a large, private, 9+ acre property just east of Spring Brook, Ontario. This is about 30 Km north of Belleville on Hwy 14 and 5 minutes south of Marmora and about two and a half hours east of Toronto. If you come from Ottawa we are some 3 hours driving via Hwy 7 going to Peterborough.

Our dogs share our home. They also "own" a 1 acre fenced in yard to romp in. Aside from the twice daily walks through our wooded property, activities which we enjoy with them are: Obedience Training, Conformation, Agility, as well as some natural tracking by chasing the numerous critters in the woods.

Breeding Philosophy

Our lives have been enriched by this very special breed. Our Berners have encouraged us to learn about ourselves (and to make any necessary improvements). Through them we have discovered a whole new world. We have travelled with them to many places in Canada and the United States and have met some wonderful people who are also 'owned by Berners'. All of these people have, in some way, shared their experience and expertise with us. In 1999 we decided to begin breeding on a very small scale because we wanted others to experience the same joys.

We are trying very hard to contribute to the preservation and improvement of this majestic working breed. Soundness of type and temperament, along with good health, are our main concerns. It is important for us to raise well adjusted, healthy puppies. It is equally important for us to place these puppies in homes which offer a healthy, stimulating environment. That way, each puppy shall grow and develop surrounded by love and by care. We are committed to offering guidance and support to all our puppies' owners, and this for the duration.

To promote good health, our dogs and their puppies are raised on an appropriate, balanced, raw food diet. We also firmly believe in a limited vaccination protocol. Therefore, we strongly encourage our puppy owners to do the same. We provide the necessary information and support for feeding and vaccinations before and after the puppy goes to it's new home. We also do not line breed but try to get the lowest coefficient of inbreeding (COI) possible in the selection of the sires we use.

Our dogs are registered both with the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) and the American Kennel Club (AKC). Those used for reproduction have DNA certification, OFA Hip and Elbow certification and health clearances for eyes, heart, von Willebrand and Thyroid.
